Chapter 2 Study Guide.

 

Know how to evaluate a function. Ex. f(x)= 2x + 3 find f(2) and Given f(x) = 2x + 3 find x where f(x) = 17

Know the six types of graphs. Page 96-98 in your textbook (purple pages, except exponential).

·       Know their intercepts, their domain and range, their equations; be able to recognize each graph and be able to draw each graph correctly.

Be able to write an explicit formula from a sequence.

·       Be able to write a sequence from the formula

Be able to write a recursive formula from a sequence.

·       Be able to write a sequence from the formula

Be able to identify the following about a graph

·       x-intercept

·       y-intercept

·       extrema

·       line of symmetry

·       Interval of Increase

·       Interval of Decrease

·       Rate of Change between two points
